The Jefferson boys and girls netters opened their 2010 campaigns with two wins, as both teams defeated Franklin County last week.
The boys’ team swept Franklin 5-0, with singles wins from Zach Bost, 6-0, 6-1, Blair Buffington, 6-0, 6-1 and Ben Daniels 6-0, 6-0.
On the doubles side, Matt Buchanan and Aaron Martin won 6-1, 6-0, while Trevor Castellaw and Sky Porter won 6-0, 6-0.

The girls also swept 5-0, with singles wins from Dell Blankenship, 6-0, 6-1, Miranda McGarity 6-4, 6-2 and Tristan McGarity, 7-6, 7-1, 3-0.
In doubles, Alison Salsman and Erin Roberts won 6-0, 6-1 while Savannah Howard and Amanda Burgamy won 6-3, 6-3.
The Jefferson netters will return to action today (Wednesday), when they travel to Elbert County.
Match time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
