9-4 Tigers Set For Weekend Against Hebron; Banks

Commerce’s Tigers basketball team was not content with a historic win over Jefferson last week; the boys wanted a couple of more notches on their win belts, and the Tigers added them last week, beating Athens Academy, Prince Avenue and Athens Christian to improve to a 9-4 record with 5-1 region mark.

The Tigers will take on Hebron on the road Friday night. Hebron is 7-8 overall coming into the game off their own three-game streak over Towns County, Tallulah Falls and Prince Avenue.

Friday night’s tip-off is at 8:30 in Dacula.

The Tigers return home Saturday to host Hwy. 441 rival Banks County. Commerce won an earlier meeting (Dec. 11), 69-43.

Since then, Banks played several games that slipped away in the final quarter, but turned a corner last weekend, picking up two wins.

The Leopards are 3-9 overall.

Tip-off follows the girl’s game at 5:00 p.m.
