The Winder-Barrow High School Swim Doggs recently made the short trek to Athens to compete at the University of Georgia’s Ramsey Center and returned home with positive meet results.
A win in the final event by the boys 400 free relay (Bijon Mansour, Bailey Brock, Daniel McIlwain, Ian Hentenaar) earned 40 points helping the WBHS boys to a fifth place finish among 18 schools. Overall, the WBHS swimmers (boys and girls) were ninth.
The 400 boys free relay team also secured a state-qualifying time of 3:34.74, more than nine seconds faster than the set qualifying time of 3:44.00.
The entire meet was full of great personal bests and fast times for the Swim Doggs, coach Jennifer Chisholm said.
