Sometimes the replay is too tough to watch. So football coaches just shelve the pain of a post-game video review and head straight to the practice field come Monday.

Commerce Police Chief John W. Gaissert pitched a devotional message to the Lady Tigers’ fast-pitch team on Monday. And his timing couldn’t be better.

While coach Pam Canup said Gaissert’s visit was planned as part of an annual speaker program she carries into each season, there’s no doubt the team needs a lift right now.

Run, run, run then run some more. "Run ‘til you puke" is their team motto.

The Banks County High School cross county teams have been doing just that in preparation for their first meet on Sept. 1 at Habersham Central High School in Mt. Airy.

During a recent practice Coach Kelly McDuffie sent the runners out on the course to get an idea of how they were doing.

The top Leopard runners were Tuan Pham, Jake Schaefer, Harris Day, Graham White, Dylon Bonilla, Gatlin Boswell and Bobby Nguyen. Francisco Hurtado is expected to return to the lineup after recovering from a recent sickness. The top Lady Lepoard runners were Carli Broome, Hannah brown, Maggie McCoy, MaKayla Hewell and Marissa Lewis. The girls team is young with three of the top five being ninth graders for BCHS.
