Taylor Hinshaw went through the usual adjustments for a college freshman, but the former Winder-Barrow High School standout is now settled in and even looking to the future.

Hinshaw recently completed his first season for Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City, Ala., and has set a goal of helping lead his team to a conference title next spring. [Full Story »] 

The Winder-Barrow High School baseball team got a taste of what it was like to be a collegiate team or perhaps even a professional one last week.

The Diamond Doggs traveled to Mississippi for a team camp and were able to concentrate solely on baseball for several days. It was a time that was beneficial for players, coach Brian Smith said. [Full Story »] 

Considering the Texas Rangers are one of his favorite teams, it was almost like a movie script Tuesday afternoon when the club selected Winder’s Max Pentecost in the seventh round.

Pentecost, who graduated from Winder-Barrow High School this spring, was not overly surprised by the pick since he visited Texas last week, meeting with team officials and touring the stadium. [Full Story »]
