Six people will be inducted as the newest members of the Winder-Barrow High School Wall of Fame in January.

The latest inductees will include five former standout athletes and one contributor. The selections will be recognized during the Jan. 7 home basketball game against Apalachee High School. [Full Story »] 

It’s still early in the season, but the Winder-Barrow High School Swim Doggs already seem to be in top form.

Overall, WBHS won 13 of 22 events at Clayton County and saw more school records fall. Coach Jennifer Blevins was obviously pleased with her swimmers’ effort.

“Although we did not win the meet, the kids were quite impressive,” Blevins said. “If we had more depth, we could have easily won.” [Full Story »] 

The Winder-Barrow High School varsity boys basketball team does not return a great deal of experience from last year’s state tournament squad, but coach David Sokol believes there is potential for the new season.

“We are working with youth, but we have good talent,” Sokol said. “They need to see for themselves what they can do. They need to go out and get a few games under their belts.”
The Bulldoggs have several upper classmen on the roster but there is not much varsity experience overall. [Full Story »] 

The Winder-Barrow High School competition cheerleading team put the finishing touches on a successful season with a state-runner up finish in the co-ed division Saturday in Columbus.

“I am very proud of the athletes on this team,” said coach Jerrie Hulsey. “Many of them had their best performance at state and as a coach that is what you hope for. They received a trophy and medals. The trophy will go in the trophy case at school along with a picture of this team.” [Full Story »] 

Even without two of their experienced competitors, the Winder-Barrow High School swimming teams made a splash in their season debut Saturday in Gainesville.

Clara Moody began her chase for the 200 individual medley record, but quickly learned that the 100 Freestyle record was a challenge that was more within reach. [Full Story »] 

Amanda Cope and Skyler Lowe have been leaders for the Winder-Barrow High School cross country teams all season.

So it should come as no surprise the WBHS standouts led their respective teams at the AAAA state meet Saturday in Carrollton. Cope paced the Lady Bulldoggs to a 10th place finish while Lowe helped the WBHS boys to a 31st overall team placing. [Full Story »] 

Hard work and dedication have paid off once again for the Winder-Barrow High School competition cheerleading team.

The Cheer Doggs placed second among 27 teams at the region competition and will compete at state in the co-ed division Saturday in Columbus.
