David Wagner still vividly remembers the 2007 contest between Winder-Barrow and Apalachee.

The Winder-Barrow High School football team continues to turn in solid efforts, but victory continues to be just out of grasp for the Bulldoggs in 2010.

The latest missed opportunity came at the hands of Salem last Friday during homecoming as WBHS fell 16-6 in what was another defensive battle. [Full Story »] 

Despite its 0-7 record, the Winder-Barrow High School football team is not giving in.

With Salem High School (3-5) visiting W. Clair Harris Stadium this Friday for homecoming, WBHS head coach David Wagner knows the foe once again will be a tough one.

“They’ve played some people tough,” Wagner said. “They are good defensively and run the Wing-T on offense. They have three backs who can fly. Their fullback is very fast. Once he gets it, he’s gone.” [Full Story »] 

The Winder-Barrow High School cross country teams turned in strong performances in their home meet recently.

A total of 19 teams from across the Northeast Georgia area attened the WBHS Invitational Saturday with the event at the Bulldoggs and Lady Bulldoggs’ home course at Bramlett Elementary School. [Full Story »] 

The Winder-Barrow High School football team was so close to victory Friday night it could almost taste it.

Suddenly, the game and a win, were torn away by the Heritage Patriots who left a home crowd going chaotic and the visiting Bulldoggs as stunned as they have been all season.

Heritage took a 14-13 overtime win after trailing through the contest. Going into the game, on paper at least, the Patriots were the heavy favorite as they are in the middle of the playoff chase. However, it was WBHS who played inspired football all night and just missed its first victory of 2010. [Full Story »] 

The 2010 football season has become uncharted territory to some degree for first-year Winder-Barrow High School head coach David Wagner.

Having been involved in postseason football for the past several seasons and throughout his coaching career, an 0-5 start for the Bulldoggs is something Wagner is having to contend with it.
