The Jefferson Dragons are ringing in the new year by taking part this week in the Pickens County Christmas Tournament. They started off tournament play with a victory over Kell Monday night.

They will continue play today (Wednesday), then return to regular season play on Jan. 8 when they play host to Banks County.

After a long drive into the Tennessee mountains, the Jefferson Mat Dragons came home last week with a victory in the Smoky Mountain Duals at Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

Up next is a trip to Winder-Barrow this week to take part in a 16-team tournament. Then this weekend, the Mat Dragons will travel to Habersham County to take part in the Habersham Duals, where they will face, among other teams, Parkview, North Forsyth, Woodward Academy and Habersham Central. The Jefferson Mat Dragons added another win to the 2009-10 tally this past weekend, as they came out on top of the Lambert Invitational in Suwanee over the weekend.

Up next for Jefferson is a trip to Winder-Barrow for the Winder-Barrow Invitational on Dec. 29 and 30.

Jefferson scored a total of 335 points in last weekend’s Lambert Invitational, taking top honors over second place West Forsyth, who scored 252. [Full Story »] 

The Jefferson Dragons entered the holiday break unbeaten in region play after defeating the Riverside Military Academy Eagles last Tuesday.

Up next for the Dragons is a trip to Pickens County where they will face the Kell Longhorns in the Pickens County Holiday Tournament.

After facing some tough competition last week, the Jefferson Lady Dragons enter the Christmas break still looking for their first win of the season.

Jefferson will be back in action on Dec. 28, as they face the Lady Longhorns of Kell in the Pickens County Christmas Tournament.

Despite being without some members, the Jefferson Mat Dragons continued a strong early season last week with a win over Commerce and a second place in the Sawnee Duals in Forsyth County.

Up next for Jefferson is a trip to Suwanee for the Lamhut Invitational this weekend.

After a scheduling problem kept them from traveling to Northgate High School, the Mat Dragons instead traveled across the river to face Commerce last Tuesday, coming away with a 61-15 victory. [Full Story »]
