Fast Pitch Softball
Sept. 23 - The Jackson County Lady Panthers had hoped to turn their season around against Oconee County, but instead lost their second game in a row in a 8-0 final.

Sept. 24 - It was another loss for the Lady Panthers of Jackson County Wednesday night, as they were blanked by Eastside 9-0. The loss drops Jackson County's record to 0-9 in the region, and 6-23 overall.

Volleyball
Sept. 23 -The woes continue for the Lady Panthers of Jackson County, as they lost Tuesday night to Monroe Area 0-2. That leaves their record at 0-1 in the region, and 1-12 overall.

Sept. 23 - The Lady Dragons picked up their second win in a row Tuesday night, handing a defeat to Oglethorpe County 3-0.

Sept. 26 - Make it three region wins in a row for Jefferson, as the Lady Dragons beat Rabun County 8-0 in five innings on Jefferson's senior night. The win improves Jefferson's record to 5-2 in the region, and 12-12 overall.

Sept. 23 - It was a bumpy night for the Lady Dragons of Jefferson, as they lost to Apalachee 0-2, and to Winder-Barrow 0-2, making it four losses in a row for Jefferson since Sept. 18.

Sept. 26 - The Lady Dragons broke their losing streak Thursday night, as they put two checks in the win column with 2-0 victories over both Tallulah Falls and East Jackson. The wins improve Jefferson's record to 4-4 in the area, and 14-12 overall.

Sept. 23 - The Lady Tigers of Commerce continued their roll, as they picked up a win Tuesday over Towns County 10-1. It was the third win of the season for Commerce over Towns County.

Sept. 26 - Make it three wins in a row for the Lady Tigers, as they defeated Social Circle 6-4 Thursday. With the win, Commerce is 5-1 in region play, and 8-10 overall.

Sept. 23 - The Lady Eagles blanked the Lady Leopards of Banks County Tuesday, winning 3-0 in Homer. The win improved the Lady Eagles to 20-6-1 overall, and 5-2 in the region.

Sept. 26 - The Lady Eagles took every opportunity, and in the bottom half of the seventh inning, pulled out a come from behind win over the Fannin County Lady Rebels off of a late hit to win 2-1 Thursday night. It was a big win for East Jackson, as it was senior night, and their final home game of the regular season.

Volleyball
Sept. 23 - One week after recoding their first area victory, the Lady Eagles continue to search for their second area victory. So far, the well has been dry, as East Jackson lost 0-2 to Rabun County, and 0-2 to Hart County on Tuesday.

Sept. 26 - After coming very close to victory, the Lady Eagles lost to Tallulah Falls 0-2 Thursday night. East Jackson also faced Jefferson Thursday, losing 0-2 in that match as well.

It was another good outing for the East Jackson cross country teams at home this weekend, as the Eagles hosted the Eagle Run Invitational at EJCHS Saturday.

The boys’ team finished second out of 19 teams, bested only by North Oconee. Habersham Central placed third, with Prince Avenue and Elbert County rounding out the top five.

Meanwhile, the girls finished fifth. Clarke Central won, followed by North Oconee, Dawson County and Jackson County. [Full Story »]
