Mill Creek golfer wins AJGA tournament

Mill Creek golfers continue to post strong performances in off-season play. Several Hawks’ golfers have participated in tournaments over the past few weeks.

On July 21, Mill Creek rising junior Mitchel Konkle shot an even-par 72 to win the Atlanta Junior Golf tournament at The Manor in Alpharetta.

Rising senior Emilie Burger shot an even-par 71 in round one of the USGA Girls' Junior Championship on July 21. The even par score was enough to tie for eighth in a field of 156. In the second round, Berger shot a 7-over-par 78 to finish the 60th annual junior championship with a 36-hole score of 149. The second round score dropped Berger to 39th on the leaderboard.

Rising senior Shawn Yim competed in the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour's Southeastern Junior Tournament July 22 - 23 in Columbus, GA. Yim placed tenth with a score of 148, just seven strokes off the championship score of 141 carded by William Sigg of Augusta.
