Lady Leopards spank rivals

It was a big one-sided victory for the Lady Leopards as Banks County girls spanked the Commerce Lady Tigers 52-16 last Friday.

The Lady Leopards record is now 2-4 after falling to Union on Tuesday night, 55-37. Individual stats were unavailable at press time from the Union County game.

Before Christmas, Banks County has one more tournament to compete in.

This weekend, the Lady Leopards will play in Demorest at the third annual Community Bank & Trust Holiday Classic hosted at Piedmont College.

Banks plays Hart County in the opening round on Friday. Tip-off is at 5 p.m.

The winner advances to play the best of Habersham Central or North Forsyth on Saturday at 7 p.m. Also in the tournament is Oglethorpe, Stephens, White and Commerce.

Banks County is still looking for a region win after falling in its second region match of the season to Dawson. Dawson defeated the ladies 42-39 on Dec. 8, after Banks fell behind early in the game.
