The East Jackson basketball season failed to take flight last week.
After falling to Pace Academy in the season-opener, the Eagles went on to drop the next two games in the Wing Slingers Tip-Off tournament at EJCHS.
East Jackson will look for a little more air under their wings as the Eagles host rival Jackson County Friday night at 8:30.
The Eagles faced West Hall in round two of tournament play last Thursday and lost 63-54.
Brandon Garrett led in scoring with 22 points while C.J. Allen scored eight.
“We played as if we were a team that had not practiced, missing lay-ups, free throws and turning the ball over way too many times to come out with a victory,” said coach Brian Turner.
The same could be said for Saturday’s game against Johnson, when the Eagles fell 80-43.
