Lady Eagles Close Tourney With Win

After opening with a pair of losses, the Lady Eagles of East Jackson ended tournament play over the weekend on a high note by picking up a win Saturday against Johnson.

Next up is the regular season home opener for East Jackson, as the Eagles will host in-county rival Jackson County Friday night at 7 p.m.

After dropping their tournament opener to Pace Academy last Saturday, the Lady Eagles faced West Hall in round two.

Things started out well for East Jackson, as they came away from the first quarter with a 6-5 lead. West Hall surged in the second quarter, and took a 16-10 lead. From there, the Lady Spartans began to keep the Lady Eagles away from the basket, allowing them only five points in the third quarter while they added another eight to make it 24-15.

It would be more of the same in the fourth quarter, with East Jackson scoring only two points while West Hall added seven to take a 31-17 victory.
