Tigers Host Tallulah Falls On Saturday

With the Commerce football season officially over, weekends are now open for basketball action.

This week, Commerce will host Tallulah Falls in its home opener. The girls’ tip-off at 6:00 p.m. with the boys’ game following.

The Lady Tigers and Tigers will play their home games in the auxiliary gym this season, as construction continues on the new gym.

The Commerce basketball season started Tuesday as both the girls and boys traveled to Johnson to take on the AAA Knights.

Leading into the game, Johnson was 1-2 after falling to two higher division schools, and picking up an 80-43 win over East Jackson.

Results from Tuesday’s game were unavailable at press time.

Boys’ head coach Chad Bridges said the Tigers were going into the game ready to play hard and looking to improve after not have much time to practice following the football schedule’s extension into the postseason.

Lady Tiger’s coach Eddie McCurley said his girls face a tough test at Johnson as well as in the season’s second game against Tallulah Falls.
