Eagles Season Ends With Loss To Lovett

Two minutes later, the Lions moved ahead 14-0.

The Eagles drove to the Lions’ 35, but the Lions picked off a pass and scored again with 39 seconds left in the quarter, making it a 21-0 game.

The Eagles drove down to the 20 but turned the ball over on another interception. Lovett settled for a field goal to go up 24-0.

Lovett went up 31-0 after stopping the Eagles on fourth down just shy of midfield. The Lions wasted no time, scoring with just under five minutes left in the half to make it 31-0. They would score again just two minutes later to carry a 38-0 lead into the half.

The Eagle defense recovered a fumble at their own 24 in the third quarter, but moments later Lovett intercepted another Eagle pass.

Lovett would turn that into another touchdown with just under seven minutes left in the quarter to move ahead 45-0.

Another Lovett interception would kill the East Jackson offense’s attempt to get on the board with just over two minutes left in the game and about a minute later, the Lions broke into the Eagles’ end zone again to make it 52-0.

It was more of the same in the fourth quarter, with Lovett again scoring with a little over eight and a half minutes left. A blocked PAT made it 58-0.

Quarterback Evan Williamson completed three of 14 passes. Tyler Collins rushed for 60 yards.
