EJCHS Starts Playoff Action Fri.

No matter the outcome, the East Jackson Comprehensive High School Eagles proved their mettle Friday night.

After falling behind 21-7 in the first half against Jefferson, the Eagles rallied in the fourth quarter to move to within seven points of tying the game that decided the region 8-AA champion.

But they came up just shy, as Jefferson scored late to win 35-21.

Now the Eagles, who went 9-1 overall and 8-1 in the region, get ready to start postseason play for the first time in history.

They’ll host the Manchester Blue Devils, who went 6-2 in region play and 7-3 overall, Friday night at 7:30.

The Blue Devils come to town off a 28-27 loss to Lamar County last Friday night.

East Jackson has outscored the Blue Devils 355-328 and has given up 165 points, compared to 168 for Manchester.
