Apalachee High School head football coach Shane Davis and his coaching staff were able to bask in the moment of a 10-0 season for a little while anyway.
The game tape of Starr’s Mill, this week’s opponent in the opening round of the Class AAAA state playoffs, did not arrive until late Saturday so there was some time at least for reflection.
“I think it’s something that will mean more once times goes on,” Davis said. “We enjoyed it some Saturday. However, then it was time to go back to work. However, to say it’s nice to be 10-0 would be an understatement.”
The AHS coaches were back to the grind Sunday preparing for the first round which they will host for the first time in school history. It’s something that has been several years in the making for the program.
