Leopards set sights on Patriots

The Banks County Leopards are set to finish out the final two games of the season at home.

This week, the Leopards host Oglethorpe County as Banks County celebrates homecoming.

On Thursday, the football team’s Mother’s Huddle is sponsoring a Homecoming Festival at the high school. See page 2B for more details.

The Leopards will enter into Friday’s game against Oglethorpe following a hard fought game against Fannin County last week.

Oglethorpe County’s Patriots hold the same record as the Leopards with two wins in region play and five loses. Both teams are looking to finish out the season 5-5, but only one can come away with a win Friday night.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. in Homer.

On paper, the Patriots average 23 points per game while allowing 27 points where the Leopards average 14 points per game and allow approximately 28 points.

Banks County could use the homecoming win to break a four-game losing streak and get set back in the win column before ending the regular season.
