AHS Wildcats are Fox 5 'Team of Week'

The Apalachee High School football team has already accomplished many things on the gridiron this fall. Now the Wildcats can add one more accomplishment to the list.

AHS was named the Fox 5 Team of the Week and was honored Thursday morning at R. Harold Stadium. The Wildcats, who will look to clinch their first ever region football title Friday against Heritage, is currently 7-0 and ranked No. 8 in the latest Class AAAA poll.

The football team was presented with a trophy for being selected as the Team of the Week.

Friday night will also be Homecoming for AHS. Kickoff against Heritage is set for 7:30 p.m. With a win, coach Shane Davis and his team will wrap up the Region 8-AAAA title for 2009 and home field advantage in the postseason.
