Third down played a vital role in last Friday’s game between Winder-Barrow and Rockdale County.
The Bulldoggs struggled to get off the field defensively on third down and also had trouble at times converting on third down offensively. The end result was a 40-14 setback in a game that was actually more competitive than the final score would indicate.
“We played much better defensively,” Corley said. “We just didn’t finish series. We had opportunities to get off the field and Rockdale did a good job of keeping the football away from us. We only had four possessions in the second half.”
Christian Davila was 19-of-36 for the Bulldoggs for 228 with Trent Demeritte on the receiving end of 10 passes for 174 yards.
