A Sweet 16 spot is as far as the Commerce Lady Tigers will go in the 2009 season. The Lady Tigers ended their state title bid on Friday, falling to the top- ranked 7-A school, Eagles Landing Christian Academy.
“Eagles Landing is ranked number one for a reason,” said Coach Pam Canup, who pointed out that Commerce made a lot of progress during the season.
Eagles Landing bumped Commerce from the playoffs with 8-0 and 14-2 wins. Commerce ended the season with a 12-12 record good for the number two seeding in region 8-A.
