Banks County
It was a cold night Friday in Jefferson, and it appeared that both teams had to warm up a little at the start of the game, as both teams fought for field position.
The Dragons got their first points on the board with just over five minutes remaining in the first quarter to move ahead 7-0.
Jefferson would add to that lead with just under a minute and a half left in the first quarter, as Lucas Redd found the end zone to make it a 14-0 lead.
The Dragons weren’t done yet, however. On their next possession, Banks County fumbled the ball, with Cain Finch recovering. Just seconds later, Redd would again run his way into the end zone to make it a 21-0 lead at the end of the quarter.
It would be more of the same in the second quarter. Just under four minutes in, a pass play to J.J. Damons for 29 yards gave the Dragons a 28-0 lead.
With just under four minutes left in the half, Caleb Meek made his way into the end zone to make it a 35-0 lead for Jefferson. They would carry that lead into the half.
Jefferson would not add any more to their tally in the second half, but they were successful for the most part in keeping the Leopards off the board.
Banks County’s lone touchdown came about halfway through the fourth quarter. They were denied on a two points conversion, however, and the score was 35-6. It would stay there through the rest of the game, as Jefferson won 35-6.
