The Lady Dragons of Jefferson saw their season come to a close last week, as they lost the best two out of three to Banks County to put them out of region tournament play.
The Lady Dragons end the season with a 4-8 region record, and 9-12 overall for the year.
Play began last Tuesday in Homer with a best two out of three round.
Both teams stayed even for the first three innings, but Jefferson finally got on the board in the top of the fourth, and then went on to hold Banks County scoreless to win 1-0.
Morgan McKinney recorded the win, giving up four hits and striking out seven in seven innings.
At the plate, McKinney went 1-3 with an RBI, Paige Pate went 2-3 and Anna Alexander went 1-3. Brittney Smith scored the lone run for Jefferson.
In game two, Banks County jumped out to an early lead, putting three runners across in the top of the first inning. They would add two more in the second and another two in the fourth while holding Jefferson scoreless. The Lady Leopards added an additional two runs to their tally in the top of the sixth. The Lady Dragons finally got on the board in the bottom of the sixth, putting two runs across, but they got no further, as Banks County won 10-2.
Kara Perry recorded the loss, giving up nine hits and seven runs while striking out two in just over three innings.
At the plate, Jordyn Whitfield went 2-3 with a run scored. Catherine Knight went 2-3. Brittney Smith went 1-3 with a run scored. Anna Alexander went 1-2. Sydney Roberts went 1-3 with an RBI. Tristan McGarity went 1-2.
That set the deciding game on Wednesday at Banks County.
Both teams held each other at bay over the course of the first seven innings, sending the scoreless game into extra innings.
Banks County finally got a run on the board in the bottom of the eighth, giving them the win 1-0.
