Panthers perform well at North Oconee

After the cancellation of a scheduled meet at Banks County, the Jackson County Panthers cross country teams made a late entry into a five-team meet at North Oconee, and turned in a good performance.

Brittany Aikens won for the girls with a 20:18, followed by a third place effort by freshman Sydney Baird, who ran a personal best time of 22:21.

Other scoring finishers included Lexie Miller, who placed 15th with a 25:27, Mary Collin with a personal best 26:22, Katie Maiolo with a 28:44 and Susie Diesch with a 28:48.

Thomas Carroll led the boys’ team with a personal best of 20:53. Other runners included John Florentine with a 20:54, Miguel Guereca with a 21:03, Austin Moser with a 21:06 and Tyler Ledford with a 21:16,
David Serna with a personal best 21:38, Dragos Teodor with a 22:10, Zac Knight with a 23:06, John Fernandez with a 24:41 and Li Her with a 32:53.
