Leopards in a must win situation

A big issue this season for Banks County has been execution and last Friday it decided the game.

“We had our moments to win the game, but we just didn’t finish,” said Armstrong. “We got down to the five yard line early and should have scored … basically the game should have been a whole lot closer than it was.”

East Jackson defeated the Leopards 21-6.

“We have to execute plays and the guys have to block the right people, we have to catch passes and do all those kinds of things. If people will do their jobs we will be successful.”

Banks County did manage to hold the Eagles to less than 30 points. According to Armstrong, East Jackson has averaged closer to 40 points per game.

Some of the standout players Armstrong saw on the field included Darrell Childress who made several blocks as tight end and Jeremy Greenway who had a good offensive game. Defensively, Armstrong said that Matthew Patton and Kane Duncan each played great games.

The Leopards are still nursing some minor injuries and healing from some bugs that were going around.

“We are going to take a couple of days off and try and heal up some,” Armstrong said, “and hopefully we won’t have a bunch of sickness and it will put us in a better situation.”
