The Jefferson Sea Dragons made quite a showing at the GPRA district swim meet at the Habersham Aquatic Center, Saturday.
The Sea Dragons qualified 17 swimmers for the state meet and set 45 personal records. The swimmers also had 15 fourth place finishes.
Coach Chad Klinck said, in his Sea Dragon Talk press release, “We are in the toughest region by far. Last year our district took 41 percent of the points for the entire state. A fourth place finish in our district is likely a top five at state.”
The next meet for the Jefferson swimmers is at Habersham again, this Saturday. The NGSL League Championships is the most important meet of the season according to Klinck. The reasoning is that this is the only meet where the team will receive a team award.
Next week, is the two-day state meet in Tifton, July 25 and July 26.

In the girls 100 medley relay:
10 and under - Ryan Childress, Camille Porter, Heather Perry and Abigail Richardson with a time of 1:12.27.
In the girls 25 freestyle:
10 and under - Camille Porter with a time of 16.07.
In the girls 25 backstroke:
Eight and under - Lindsey Kelley with a time of 24.27.
In the girls 25 fly:
Eight and under - Haley Bartoletta with a time of 27.21.
10 and under - Heather Perry with a time of 17.46.
In the boys 25 fly:
Eight and under - Joshua Joransen with a time of 22.29.
In the girls 100 freestyle relay:
Eight and under – Lindsey Kelley, Dory Goocher, Anna Swaim and Carlee Jackosn with a time of 1:25.55.
10 and under - Abigail Richardson, Camille Porter, Ryan Childress and Heather Perry with a time of 1:04.39.
In the boys 100 freestyle relay:
Eight and under - Dylan Childress, Jackson Lamb, Lucas Carreno and Joshua Joransen with a time of 1:21.04.
In the boys 50 freestyle:
