Lady Panthers start tourney play Sat.

Up next was a match with East Jackson. The Lady Panthers won the first set against the Lady Eagles 25-19. East Jackson first rallied to win the second set 25-11 and then won the third set 25-23, taking the match 2-1.

Coach Crystal Colley said her team is still working to fix their mistakes.

“We need to focus on what needs to be done,” she said. “Our skill level is as good as anyone else, yet we cannot seem to finish a match with a win. We struggle with mental toughness. The girls will be up by eight to 10 points and then let the other team come back and win.”

It was a similar situation Thursday night, as the Lady Panthers closed out their regular season with matches against Apalachee and Madison County.

Jackson County took one set against Apalachee, but the Lady Wildcats came back to win two to take the match 2-1.

The Lady Panthers looked to be on the right path when they began their match against Madison County, as they took the first set 25-22. But Madison came back to win the next two sets, both with scores of 25-13, taking the match 2-1.
