It wasn’t the week the Lady Panthers of Jackson County were hoping for, as they dropped two games before seeing a weekend tournament cancelled due to wet weather.
That leaves Jackson County with a 5-2 region record, and 13-9-1 overall.
The Lady Panthers will take to the field for their final game of the regular season today (Wednesday), as they’ll play host to the Lady Bears of Mountain View for senior night.

JCCHS to host Mountain View Wednesday
First pitch is scheduled for 5:55 p.m.
It seemed to be a pretty evenly matched game last Wednesday, as Jackson County faced off against Elbert County. Lady Panthers’ pitcher Haley Shinall started on the mound, and Jackson County’s defense played well as Elbert County was held scoreless throughout seven innings.
However, Elbert County also managed to keep the Lady Panthers from scoring, leaving the game scoreless at the end of seven innings.
Using international tiebreaker rules, the game entered its eighth inning. Neither team seemed to be able to get their bunts down or execute.
In the ninth inning, Elbert County broke through to score two runs. The Lady Panthers were unable to answer when they came up to bat, giving them their first region loss of the year, as Elbert County won 2-0.
Up next was another region match up, this time against the Lady Indians of Stephens County.
Despite a strong effort, they came away with their second region loss of the year, 2-1.
