The Jefferson Dragon cross country teams had strong showings over the weekend in the Eagle Run at East Jackson Comprehensive High School.
The girls’ team placed second out of 15 teams that competed, with Cara Smith finishing 12th overall with a 23:00.

The boys placed eighth out of 19 teams, with Trae Timmerman finishing 22nd overall with a time of 19:27.
Other finishers for the girls were Lauren Phillips with a 23:10, Alison Missler with a 25:05, Jessica Runkel with a 25:17, Laura Price with a 25:30 and Kathy Buffington with a 25:52.
Other finishers for the boys included Jake Sherman with a 20:10, Jake Marlowe with a 20:49, Matt Deremer with a 21:12, Michael Stephenson with a 21:13 and Cannon Joiner with a 22:15.
