1-1 Tigers head to Franklin Co. Fri.

Commerce put one in the win column last Friday night as the Tigers rolled over Morgan County 34-14.

This week Steve Savage’s Tigers will take on another AAA school as Commerce heads to Franklin County Friday for a 7:30 match with the Lions.

Franklin County is 0-2 after falling to Gainesville last Friday night and Commerce is 1-1 and looking for a second win.

According to Savage, Commerce has things to work out before Friday’s game.

“We had a few alignment problems on defense that we have got to get straight,” said Savage, adding that the offense needs some work after not exactly “clicking on all cylinders” against Morgan County.

“They [Franklin County] are still trying to find themselves. They have some big ol’ boys that can come off the ball and give us some problems,” Savage said.

Both Franklin and Commerce are big on running the ball, but according to Savage, the Tigers are going to work on passing a bit more as well as optioning the ball.

A successful home opener improved the Tigers to a 1-1 record last Friday night as Commerce took a 20-point win over Morgan County.
