The Apalachee High School football team found a way to win last Friday night at Cedar Shoals. In order to contend for the playoffs and a region title, teams have to be able to do that.
The Wildcats (2-0 overall, 2-0 in Region 8-AAAA) took a 12-6 victory on the road in a defensive struggle in Athens. While the host Jaguars were able to keep the powerful stable of AHS running backs in check for the most part, the Wildcats generated just enough points for the win.
Coach Shane Davis' team is off this week. See Wednesday's edition of the Barrow Journal for a complete local high school football report.
Wildcats begin season 2-0
