Eagles Take 1st, 2nd Place At Athens Christian

The East Jackson Eagles started the cross country season at the Northeast Georgia Championships Saturday at Athens Christian with 1-2 finishes.

The Lady Eagles came away with the varsity championship, while the boys’ team captured the runner-up spot.
Next up for the Eagles is a trip to Gainesville for the War Eagle Classic on Sept. 8.

At Athens Christian Saturday, Sherri Blalock led the way for the girls with a second place-finish out of 108 runners.

The Lady Eagles had seven runners open their cross-country careers at the Athens race.

East Jackson defeated 16 other teams for the championship.

Eleven Eagle runners debuted at the NEGA.
