The Jefferson Lady Dragons continued their strong season run last week with victories over Johnson, Buford, Lakeview Academy and Flowery Branch.
Next up is a home stand against East Jackson and Athens Christian on Thursday.
Match time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Jefferson traveled to Buford last Tuesday to face a strong Johnson team. The Lady Dragons led the entire match, but had trouble putting away the Lady Knights. Serving made the difference for Jefferson, as the team combined for 11 aces in the match. The Lady Dragons picked up the win 2-0, with scores of 25-23 and 25-21.
Taylor Cramsey had three kills defensively, while Stephanie Fincher had four kills.
Jefferson next took on host Buford, coming out on top 2-0 with scores of 25-16 and 25-21.
The match was very similar to the Johnson struggle as Jefferson took an early lead in both games but Buford would not fold. Again serving was the key with 14 Dragon Aces while Fincher had five kills and Cramsey had seven on the match.
“This was a very good night for us as we defeated two quality opponents with great traditions of excellence,” said Jefferson head coach Michael Paul.
Next up was a home stand for the Lady Dragons, as they played host to Lakeview Academy and Flowery Branch.
Jefferson started out by defeating sub-area rival Lakeview 2-1, with scores of 25-12, 19-25 and 25-18.
Serving again made the difference in the outcome, as the Lady Dragons combined for 17 aces, with Cassie Metcalf piling up 11. Metcalf also had eight kills offensively, while Fincher had 11 and Eden Starnes had five. Mandy Daniel had 13 assists while Karla Carreno had eight.
