“We had a very good night,” said head coach Frank Caputo. “Our guys played very well. Drew had a lot of speed and also ran the spread offense. We felt like we would really have to run to keep up with these guys. Our defense did a very good job of bending but not breaking.”

Caputo said quarterback Evan Williams threw the ball very well, including a touchdown pass to B.J. Youngs.

Scott Hill scored on a return of an interception. C.J. Allen, Drew Hunter and Justin Daniel also scored and the team made all but one of its extra points.

“All in all we were pleased, but do realize we have a long way to go,” Caputo said.

Now, with just a couple of days remaining before kickoff of the 2009 season, Caputo says his team knows it has its work cut out for it.
