After waiting all spring and through a long, hot summer, Banks County football is back on the field.
The Leopards donned pads and helmets Monday to officially start season practice.
The fact that the Leopards broke an 11-year playoff drought has increased expectations — everyone is looking to the team to return to the playoffs this season.

BCHS gears up for ‘09
In 2008, the Leopards finished 6-5 with a 6-3 region record, picking up big wins over Rabun County and East Jackson. Banks County was also one of only three teams to score 20 or more points against Jefferson in the regular season.
The upcoming season could prove to be just as exciting for Leopard fans as the team plays a mirror image of the 2008 schedule.
The Leopards will start the season with a scrimmage, Aug. 14 at Johnson High School at 7:30 p.m.
