The Jefferson Sea Dragons competed in the North Georgia Swim League Championships last Friday and Saturday, coming home with a third place finish overall.

The result came despite not having a single swimmer in two out of 12 age groups, including 15-18 girls and 15-18 boys, and only having one swimmer in the 13-14 boys age group.

“Four years ago in our first year we were last out of 14 teams,” said coach Chad Klinck.

Among the first place finishers were Ryan Childress, who took first in the girls’ 9-10 25-yard Freestyle, Bree Hanson, who placed first in the girls’ 9-10 25-yard Breaststroke, and Greg Prozorovskiy, who took first in the boys’ 6-under 25-ard Backstroke.

The team of Bree Hanson, Lilli Blackstock, Caroline Mitchell and Ryan Childress placed first in the girls’ 9-10 100-yard Free relay. The team of Bree Hanson, McKenna Lee, Lilli Blackstock and Ryan Childress took first in the girls’ 9-10 100-yard Medley relay. The team of Trent Novicki, Jacob Sealock, Dylan Childress and Collin Harkins placed first in the boys’ 8-under 100-yard Freestyle relay, and first in the boys’ 8-under 100-yad medley relay.
