Jefferson High School graduate and baseball standout Chris Beck has been drafted by the Cleveland Indians, according to www.mbl.com.

Beck was drafted Thursday in the 35th round, the 1,055 pick.

He becomes the first JHS player to be drafted.

Beck signed to play for Georgia Southern last November. So far there’s been no word as to his plans.
