The Jefferson Park and Rec swim team, the Sea Dragons, are set to get their 2009 summer season kicked off next week, and according to team administrator and assistant coach Chad Klinck, it should be one of the best on record for the program.
Klinck says the team has about 95 kids this year, up from 80 that took part last year.
“(Between) 15-20 of them have started swimming year round now and that really helps the team,” he said. “Two years ago we did not have any year round swimmers. If we had some older swimmers we could probably compete for a league or GRPA state title, but until we get a high school team we will continue to lose swimmers to other sports.”
