Experience to be key for Wildcats in 2009

“Overall, things went well,” the coach said. “Our numbers are good and the weather was good to work in last week. It has been a long offseason, however. Some routine things had been forgotten. Even with so many guys back like we have you have to take time to review. So many of them have been involved in baseball, basketball and track.”

Still, the AHS coach likes the direction his team is showing this spring.

“Our intensity was good, especially early in the week,” the AHS coach said.

The Wildcats were off Monday because of the holiday, but returned to work Tuesday. The team will hold a spring scrimmage Friday at 6 p.m.

Davis said earlier this week the coaches were still looking at what format to use, but said he wanted to divide the players into teams for a spring game.
Admission to the spring event will be $2. Game officials will be used.

Friday’s event will conclude the spring portion of offseason training for the AHS football team. Players will move into summer workouts when the school year concludes.
