JCCHS state meet results under appeal

It was a disappointing trip to Albany for Jackson County’s lone state track qualifier over the weekend.

After winning the region title in the 3200, Brittany Aiken traveled to Albany for the girls’ state meet.

She ran a 12:24 in the 3200-meters, placing eighth, but was disqualified for allegedly running off of the track.

JCCHS coach Jay Reid said they are in the process of appealing the ruling.

Should her finish be re-instated, it would mean placing in the points for Aiken.

Riverwood took the top spot in the event.
