Two Lady Dragons place at state meet

The Jefferson Lady Dragons track and field team wrapped up their season with a strong showing at the state meet in Albany.

The team finished in a five way tie for 16th place in the state out of 47 teams

Two team members placed at the meet.

Marcayla Hester placed fifth in the state in the triple jump, breaking the school record with a jump of 35’6” effort. It was the third time this year that Hester had broken the record.

Hester also ran a personal best in the 400-meters.

Erin Knight placed fifth in the 800-meters with a time of 2:24.79, breaking a 28-year-old school record.
