Tigers Fight For Playoff Position

With just one game left in the regular season, the baseball Tigers are in a “dogfight” for footing in the state Class A playoffs.

The Tigers fell to Hebron 2-0 on Monday night after sweeping a doubleheader from Tallulah Falls on Thursday and losing 13-0 to region-leading Lakeview on Friday.

The Tigers played Athens Christian Tuesday (results were not available at press time) and will wrap up the regular season Friday, hosting Athens Academy at 6 p.m.

This week was described by coach Steve Cotrell as a “dogfight to the end” to determine where the Tigers will stand in the first round of the playoffs.

The fight started Monday as the Tigers lost 2-0 to Hebron. Individual stats from Monday’s game were unavailable at press time.

Commerce played its second to last game of the season Tuesday evening against Athens Christian. Results from the game were unavailable at press time.
