Both Jackson County golf teams saw their seasons come to a close last week, as both teams came away from region tournament play in Rutledge with eighth place finishes overall.
For the boys, Rodney Price and Ben Waldrip led the team, with both shooting a 95.
“We are young,” said coach Warren Standridge. “We have one senior, Russell Jenkins, and the rest are underclassmen. We have a strong eighth grade group coming and look to move toward the top in boy’s golf soon.
“I was pleased to see the consistency and hard work throughout the year.”
For the girls, Beth Bates outscored her opponent from Oconee County by six strokes to win her individual match, but it was not enough to secure a position for state play.
