Seven Dragons to go to State

Porter won the region championship in the pole vault. Kles was region champ in the discus, and placed fourth in the shot put. Perkins was the region champ in the 110-meter hurdles and placed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. Damons took the region championship in the 200-meter dash, as well as placing third in the high jump and third in the 100-meters. Jefferson also won the region championship in the 4x400. Team members include Damons, Crosby, Watkins and Milton.

The Dragons placed second overall in the regional tournament with 118 points. North Oconee came out on top with a total of 132 points. East Jackson finished third with 103.

Other placers for Jefferson included Noah McCarthy, who placed sixth in the high jump. Crosby placed second in the long jump and seventh in the 400-meters. Derrick Perkins took third in the triple jump. Milton took second in the 400-meters, fifth in the triple jump and third in the 300-meter hurdles.

The 4x100 team finished third.
