Lady Tiger Golfers Win Region Championship

Commerce’s Lady Tiger golfers will advance to state after taking the region championship Monday.

The Lady Tigers shot a 201, beating second-place Hebron by 22 strokes.

They’ll travel to Bartram Trail Golf Course in Evans, near Augusta, on May 4 for the state meet.

“The girls really played well on a tough golf course,” said coach David Stephenson. “I am so proud of them. I really feel we have a chance for a high finish at state this year if the girls keep playing as well as they have recently.”

Last week the Lady Tigers defeated Prince Avenue 105-110 at Double Oaks.
