The Jackson County Panthers track teams picked up a pair of second place finishes last week, as they played host to East Jackson and Franklin County on Thursday.
The boys picked up 55 points in the meet, second to East Jackson with 67.
Franklin scored 39 to finish third.
Charles Smothers picked up wins in the 100-meters and 200-meters, and placed second in the long jump. Cody Atkins won in the 800-meters.
The team of Nick Oney, Jon Holton, Ryan Howe and Atkins won in the 4x400. Oney, Smothers, Zane Cochran and Charlie Waycaster won in the 4x100.
Other placers for Jackson County included D.J. Ledford, who placed second in the 1600-meters and the 3200-meters. Jon Holton placed second in the 400-meters.
Josh Spanks took second in the discus. Peter Thao placed third in the 800-meters. Jonathan Baxter took third in the discus. Nick Beaver placed third in the 110-meter hurdles. Cody Starks placed third in the triple jump.
The girls recorded 50 points in the meet, just five points behind first place Franklin County with 55. East Jackson placed third with 44 points.
Brittany Aiken recorded a win in the 3200-meters and a second place in the 1600-meters. The team of Krishawnda Ledford, Charlotte Foster, Claire Collin and Rachel Pasko won in the 4x400.
Other placers included Collin taking second in the long jump, second in the triple jump and third in the 300-meter hurdles. Ledford placed second in the 200-meters, third in the long jump and third in the 100-meters. Pasko placed second in the 800-meters and third in the 1600-meters. Foster took second in the 100-meter hurdles. Zoe Evans took second in the 100-meters and third in the shot put.
