Eagles pick up win over Patriots

The Eagles entered into play last Tuesday looking to stop a seven game losing streak that dated back to the middle of March.

Things didn’t start out looking very promising, as East Jackson found themselves trailing 4-0 early on. Daniel Kellum got things going for the Eagles with a two out, two strike single that scored two runs. Kellum then scored from second on an error, and the Eagles soon found themselves tied 4-4.

While East Jackson continued to thrive at the plate, Sam Williamson worked to hold the Patriots to just one hit over the next five innings. In the end, the Eagles came away with a 12-4 victory.

North Oconee

East Jackson next traveled to Bogart to face the Titans of North Oconee. With momentum seeming to be on their side, the Eagles came out strong early, and in the fourth, held a 4-1 lead over the Titans, who entered the game with a 5-2 region record.

But errors committed by the Eagles in the fourth gave North Oconee the chance they needed to come back, with the Titans taking the lead, and then tacking on three more runs in the sixth. North Oconee would go on to win 8-4.
