The Jefferson Dragon boys golf team just missed another win last week, as they fell to Winder-Barrow at Double Oaks Golf Course, with the Bulldoggs winning 172-175.
Senior Cody Smith scored a team season best by shooting a 39, tying for match low medalist. He was followed by Josh Flowers and Michael Baker with 45. Andrew Thompson and Cutler Finch both shot a 46, which was the fourth score for Jefferson.
The loss leaves the boys 6-3 on the season.
The JHS golf teams split against Winder-Barrow last week, with the girls recording a win while the boys just missed in a loss.
Dragons to face Banks Co. Thursday
The Lady Dragons fared better against Winder-Barrow, winning 88-121. Jefferson was led by Jennifer Brueshaber, who shot a 41 and Hanna Chapman with a 47, which was a season low for both the girls and the team.
The win leaves Jefferson 6-2 on the season.
Both teams were scheduled to return to action Tuesday against East Jackson at Traditions. Results were unavailable at press time.
The Dragons will next face Banks County on Thursday at Double Oaks in their last regular season event.
