Mladin Sweeps AMA Doubleheader at Road Atlanta

Then on Sunday, Mladin turned in another dominating performance, starting on the pole and leading every lap to score his 14th victory on the Braselton road course.

Mladin’s only blemish of the weekend came during practice earlier in the day on Sunday, when he crashed at the end of the back straightaway. Mladin avoided injury and he didn’t miss a beat on the repaired machine.


“I had a bit of a tumble this morning and the guys got the bike back together,” he said. “Everything felt as usual and normal for the race. It was a good race for us. We had a bit of a crack for 10 or 12 laps. I was trying to figure out around lap 10 or 11 whether I should keep pushing and the boys get a bit nervous when I do that. I pushed my luck one too many times today already, so I decided to have a bit of fun at the end.”

Young edged out May for second, with Hayes and Aaron Yates rounding out the top five.
