Jefferson wins three region contests

East Jackson

The Dragons started out last week on a high note, as they won an 11-0 rout over the Eagles of East Jackson in six innings.

Jefferson started out the night by putting three runs across in the second, then added two more in the fourth, one in the fifth and five in the sixth to put the game away.

Chris Swancey picked up the win, combining with Jake Fields and Chris Beck to hold East Jackson to only three hits all night and striking out a combined 11 batters.

Jamie Sexton went 3-4 with three RBIs and one run. Fields had two hits and one RBI. Jason Demos had two hits, two runs and two RBIs. Tyler Bailey had three runs and two RBIs.

North Oconee

Jefferson looked to stay on a winning roll as they played host to the Titans of North Oconee on Friday.

After two scoreless innings on both sides, the Dragons drew first blood in the bottom of the third when they scored two runs. After a scoreless fourth, the Titans got their first run on the board in the top of the fifth, and would tie the game in the top of the sixth with another run.

The Dragons would not be denied, and in the bottom of the seventh, got their third and final run across to take the 3-2 victory over North Oconee.
